Welcome Lady Bird

Apparently we lost our minds and thought getting a puppy was the next best thing for us. And no it's not golden color, or housebroken or trained or obedient. But she sure is CUTE!

I rationalize it by saying Mikie needs a friend and Jordan needs a dog to grow up with and maybe David will lay off the 100 reasons we need a dog.

Ok so David claims it’s my anniversary gift. We picked her up Monday night ( romantic anniversary huh ) We originally had a plan, golden lab, golden lab. Well the only golden left was a male and guess what he was the wild one out of the litter, already bitting and bounding and not sitting still. In my mind I said no way in hell.
And there she was, black and a little fluffy and the calmest one of the litter.

She is an 8 week old black lab. So far she is pretty good, a little hard adjusting at night, but hasn’t destroyed anything and whines to go outside and potty. So all in all she is like 1/2 potty trained, follows the other dog around and loves us.

The explanation of her name - Hank Hill's dog from the animated television series King of the Hill. She is named after the wife of President (and Texan) Lyndon Johnson, Lady Bird Johnson.

Again I must be crazy because puppies are a lot of work.

A puppy are you crazy??

We have been going back and forth for months now since Sasha's passing about getting a puppy or not. It is great being a one dog family. So easy, ah but my husbnad the child at heart, loves puppies and not like normal people - he is on the border of a weird obsession with puppies. For weeks we have gone round and round, to get a puppy or not and what breed. I had my big ideas and turns out not so good with kids, David was brought up loving sheps ( German Shepards for those of you who dont know the lingo) I hate their shedding, frankly I am happy with getting a hairless dog. Seeing as they are ugly - I wanted a labradoodle- 1/2 lab 1/2 poodle. No shedding family dog who is super smart- I have been told nothing named Doodle. Forgive me if my husband's man hood is compromised with a dog breed named doodle.

We have finally settled- Lab or Golden Retriever- an all american dog. Next is finding that special dog.
I would like a golden lab. People they are not that easy to find - unless you want to shell out $800. I dont care what bloodlines it has, or that its great granddog dad was best in show. We want a golden dog for a decent price, preferably one who is housebroken, trained, obident and perfect. Oh and looks like a cuddly puppy.

But really who are we kidding. So the search remains on...

7 years and all you get is wool?

Monday June 2nd, David and I celebrated 7 years of wedding bliss. So check out what your suppose to give.

7th Anniversary Gifts

Traditional Gift = Wool / Copper- ok like a sweater or a penny. Or some copper pipe since on the black market they are selling it for a pretty penny

Modern Alternative = Desk Sets - come on really, I must say I think we would both be disappointed if we got the other one this.

7th Anniversary Flower = Jack-in-the-Pulpit- never heard of it. Jack in Pulpit

Color = Off White

Gemstone = Onyx / Yellow Sapphire

I wonder who comes up with this stuff. Anyway Cheers here's to many more years together -
